If you’re familiar with Albuquerque, you’ve definitely noticed our beautiful local mountain range: the Sandia Mountains. When viewed during sunset, these mountainsides exhibit some of the most gorgeous watermelon colors that often keep me mesmerized. If you’re looking for a location that has wonderfully forested landscapes and cliff-side views, this is a great location to hold your Albuquerque engagement shoot.
I think it’s funny how small a town Albuquerque really feels sometimes. When Morgan contacted me to do her engagement photos while she and her fiancé were visiting in the fall, I noticed her last name and knew immediately that we had some sort of connection. Her older sister, it turned out, was an awesome girl I went to high school with, and one who helped me through our class (math? science? Clearly it was a class I was totally invested in) while we doodled all period in our agendas. So when Morgan booked me for her engagement shoot, I already felt connected to her in a way I don’t always feel with my new clients.
Last fall on a particularly warm October day, Morgan, Nick, and I romped around Sandia Peak just outside of Albuquerque and took photos together. Although they both told me they didn’t really know how to be in front of a camera, their chemistry made photographing them a little too easy. I mean, look at those glowing smiles? It was pretty much pure magic.
